Self-driving cars the problems faced in development

The thought of self-driving car is a very interesting advancement in technology that may be seen on roads in the near future but there are many challenges that are faced by companies that are developing this kind of technology. Many of the problems faced are with the information systems that are used in to make the car function properly. Some of these systems range from manageable problems like detecting glare from snow on the road or accounting for misbehaving children inside the car, to much harder to fix problems such as system design failures.
One of the greatest problems faced when developing this technology not being able to justify whether or not the completely self-driving car system is safe without the existing software designed to work with the car. The developers also stated that designing a fully automated car is much harder than the already existing technology of automated flight because of the fact they have to develop an information that is designed to interact with the mass amount of cars and traffic on the road.  As well as an information system that is used to make the correct responses in time of an emergency.
With these problems that the developers are facing in the creation of a self-driving car it may be years until they are made available for the public to buy.
