IS that will add the Gluten intolerant and Celiacs
With all the people in today’s
world that are becoming more and more aware of their celiac disease or
intolerance of gluten, myself included, making a device that is able to scan food
to detect the ingredients inside would be very helpful. With the new start-up
called 6SensorLabs a device like that is something that could be made available
to the public fairly soon.
A product like this would shine
light on to the problems that affect many people that are affected by glutenous
foods. They would no longer have to play the guessing game when it comes to
food that is prepared at restaurants. A simple scan would allow the user to identify
all the ingredients inside the food and able to assess whether or not the food
is safe to eat.
M.I.T graduates, Shireen Yates and
Scott Sundvor, founded the company. They say that their product will be fast
and reliable; it will even be for purchase at $150, which is about half the
price of their biggest competitor the Tellspec food scanner. They also hope to
create scanners that are able to detect other types of allergens in foods.
The start-up has already compiled 4
million dollars from outside investor and is predicted to release their gluten
scanner to the public early next year.
